Transient expression of the Mt-GFP-Act5C plasmid was described.

The same plasmid was used to make the stably transformed line, using a hygromycin-resistance marker.

Cells exhibit highly variable levels of expression within the population. Use conconavalin A-coated substrate to induce spreading of the cells. The metallothionein promoter can be induced with 1 mM CuSO4, but the basal level of expression is probably sufficient.
